On April 26, Prima Mabonzo, Information Technology Consultant, Founder of Kisina Déco and Membership Vice-President of BPW Canada received the Claude-Masson Award, which recognizes the volunteer commitment of people aged 14 to 35.
This prize is awarded by the Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Solidarity, Minister of Immigration, Francisation and Integration as part of the 2022 edition of the Hommage Voluntary-Québec Awards, which celebrate their 25th anniversary. This year, among nearly 200 applications received in total for four categories, 40 winners were honored.
Social involvement, at the heart of the concerns of Kisina Déco and Prima Mabonzo
Kisina Déco supports female leadership through partnerships with NGOs that fight for the cause of women and wish to raise awareness about the value of women-owned businesses. Moreover, Prima presented its perspective of female leadership during an episode of the Podcast: Confidences of a leader, broadcast on April 18.
It is important for Prima to get involved on a voluntary basis in NPOs working for the mobility and entrepreneurship of young people, the influence of cultural communities and the advancement of women. Her subsequent voluntary actions as well as her knowledge of the BPW Montreal organization and the problems experienced by women in Africa and the West enabled her to make strategic decisions and create innovative projects. Since 2020, she has served as Vice President of BPW Canada while continuing to lend a hand to BPW Montreal. This new function allows him to have influence and to make things happen at the local and national level, in particular through work of reflection in the BPW clubs of the country to identify the needs of volunteers and help them in their activities.
